Just in case you haven’t heard…let me be the first to tell you, Its a numbers game. What is, you ask? EVER-RY-THING. No matter your endeavor, success boils down basic mathematics. Sure, you can improve your odds with strategy and tactics (two different things mind you) but bottom line, if you know your numbers, you’re a step ahead. Your prospects increase with your number of attempts period. So why is it that so many people just don’t increase their “number at bats” and keep swinging to get what they want?
I submit its mostly a fear of loss or failure or rejection keeping people from rejoicing in many tries. Frustration with unsuccessful attempts does mount, lets be honest. However, it doesn’t have to. History is full of people who did’nt it right the first time. I’m not a hater, but I still rejoice in Einstein having failed math to this day.
What I’m getting at is that you may hear a thousand no’s but you only need one yes and the next go may be yours. You never know.
Unless “the fix is in” rejection is part of the process just like failure is a part of success. Embrace it, learn to dance with it and whisper in its ear your sweet nothings of appreciation and watch what happens. (I know I’m corny, relax.)
Till next time,
Cliff
